The Island Triathlon Series, which was originally scheduled to take place on Dec. 1, 2007, will now debut in the majestic Turks & Caicos Islands on March 29th, 2008.

WHAT: In its inaugural year, the competition, sponsored by K-Swiss and The Alexandra Resort, will welcome international athletes to the shores of the luxurious Caribbean destination for The Island Eighty™, a one-mile swim, 66-mile bike ride and 13-mile run through the breathtaking tropical scenery on the island of Providenciales.

With the Island Triathlon Series came the birth of its signature fundraising initiative, “Tri4Dignity™,” which provides athletes with an opportunity to achieve a personal goal while also raising funds and awareness for Dignitas International – a global, medical, and humanitarian organization focused on HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention.
The 40 islands of the Turks & Caicos, of which eight are inhabited, are renowned for their award-winning beaches, diving and array of world-class resorts. Additional activities include tennis, golf and horseback riding.
