Turks & Caicos Island Triathlon series POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH
06 November 2007
The Island Triathlon Series, which was originally scheduled to take place on Dec. 1, 2007, will now debut in the majestic Turks & Caicos Islands on March 29th, 2008.
WHAT: In its inaugural year, the competition, sponsored by K-Swiss and The Alexandra
Resort, will welcome international athletes to the shores of the luxurious Caribbean
destination for The Island Eighty™, a one-mile swim, 66-mile bike ride and 13-mile run
through the breathtaking tropical scenery on the island of Providenciales.

WHEN: Saturday, March 29, 2008

Providenciales, Turks & Caicos

With the Island Triathlon Series came the birth of its signature fundraising initiative,
“Tri4Dignity™,” which provides athletes with an opportunity to achieve a personal goal
while also raising funds and awareness for Dignitas International – a global, medical, and
humanitarian organization focused on HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention.

The 40 islands of the Turks & Caicos, of which eight are inhabited, are renowned for
their award-winning beaches, diving and array of world-class resorts. Additional
activities include tennis, golf and horseback riding. There are three daily 90-minute direct
flights from Miami, a US Airways direct flight from Charlotte and daily flights from New
York. www.turksandcaicostourism.com
