Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands, June 18, 2013 – Last week, The Turks and Caicos took center stage at the Aventura Mall in Aventura, Florida as the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board partnered with NBC6 South Florida for the Ultimate Honeymoon Sweepstakes 2013. This marks the Turks and Caicos’ second year as a destination partner with NBC6 South Florida on the campaign; which is in its sixth year running.
The aim of the promotion is to directly reach consumers interested in travel, destination weddings, and honeymoons, while they are in the planning stages of this milestone event. Marketing Executive for the Tourist Board, Oneika Simons-Rigby noted, “Destination weddings and honeymoon getaways are a major market for us, with many of our properties offering special packages and service providers catering everything involved in the event planning, from food and décor selection to your choice of priest. This has always been a promising market for us and one that we have seen continuous growth in for the last 10 years.”
The Turks and Caicos brand was showcased tremendously throughout the extensive multi-media campaign that included television advertisements and promos, as well as a live interview with NBC6’s Roxanne Vargas on “6 In The Mix”, direct marketing, on-line marketing, and social media.
The Ultimate Honeymoon campaign launched in March, 2013 and will run until the end of June, 2013. Phase two of the campaign saw couples submitting essays or photos for a competition, from which four finalists were revealed. NBC6 viewers were then given the opportunity to vote for their favorite amongst the finalists. The winning couple will receive a seven night honeymoon getaway at The Somerset on Grace Bay, the primary partner of the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board for this year’s campaign, inclusive of food and beverage along with other amenities for a total prize package worth more than $15,500. The prize package is redeemable over the next 12 months.
“In addition to airfare and accommodation prizes, the winning couple will also enjoy a wonderful evening at our weekly Island Fish Fry and excursions to North and Middle Caicos,” say Simons-Rigby. “In all our promotions we do our best to incorporate the family islands, so that our visitors may discover the hidden secrets that lay beyond Providenciales.”
