Must-Try Lobster Dishes in Grace Bay

Celebrate Turks and Caicos’ Lobster Season with These Local Specials

The Caribbean spiny lobster season in the Turks and Caicos Islands opens annually from August to March (specific dates vary by year) and is much anticipated by locals and visitors alike. Once the season opens, it’s the perfect time to get your lobster fix as restaurants will add lobster dishes back to their menus. While our traditional lobster dishes (hashed lobster, lobster salad, grilled lobster, etc.) can be found throughout the islands, here are five must-try lobster dishes in the Grace Bay area specifically:

Located in the Turtle Cove area of Providenciales, a mere 3 minute drive from central Grace Bay, is Mango Reef Restaurant – a favorite eatery for locals and visitors. The open-air restaurant overlooks the marina and is the perfect atmosphere for dinner under the stars. The spicy lobster curry dish consists of stir fried lobster in red curry paste with ginger, scallions, lemon grass, lime kaffir, galangal chili, cilantro and basil which is simmered in coconut milk with vegetables.
