Premier Unveils Refurbished Roundabout

The Premier Hon. Sharlene Cartwright-Robinson and Deputy Premier and Minister for Infrastructure, Housing, Planning and Development, Hon. Sean Astwood unveiled the newly refurbished roundabout located at the end of the Leeward Highway, Downtown, Providenciales on Tuesday, August 6th 2019.

The redeveloped roundabout was a partnership project between the Office of the Premier, Local Government and Community Affairs and the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing, Planning and Development.

The patriotic design features three signs that read: “Welcome to Turks and Caicos”“Thank you for visiting” and “Please Come Again”. The design also pays homage to the one of the national symbols appearing on the national flag: the Turks Head Cactus; and at the centre of the roundabout a flag pole with the Turks and Caicos Islands flag on display.

The unveiling of the roundabout is part of the Office of the Premier’s mandate to beautify TCI’s roads and roadsides and comes ahead of the launch of the Adopt-a-Roundabout Programme.
