Chocolate lover’s showcase at the Regent Palms Resort & Spa
This past weekend was the 3rd annual chocolate lover’s showcase with awesome chocolate goodness on display. A variety of resorts, cafes and shops all provided the delicacies both savoury and sweet to help raise funds the Turks and Caicos branch of the Salvation Army. This excellent organisation does much for the community especially the elderly on middle and north caicos for example providing much needed transport for groceries and home visits. Welcoming in a healthy new year.
The annual Move-a-thon held in January in Turks and Caicos is a celebration of starting the new year off in the right way! This year there was a half marathon, 10K and 5K races as well as beach games for the kids and stalls from local health and wellness practitioners. The funds raised during this event helps to promote the community projects of the non profit, Nutrition in Demand. Last year’s funds were donated to Provo Primary to hold Nutrition Education/culinary classes for children in grades 2-6. There was a great turnout

Maskanoo – a celebration.
Maskanoo is an annual street festival held on December 26th (Boxing Day) in Providenciales. Now in its fourth year this years event was bigger and better than ever with the street around the Saltmills Plaza and Regent Grand shopping area packed with locals and tourists alike. Great food, local music and a parade followed by various musical acts on stage kept the crowds entertained well into the night.
